Like many non-profits, Colorado Youth Matter has to manage funds dedicated to their cause while attracting and keeping employees to be sustainable.
In our first conversation with Executive Director, Lisa Olcese, she mentioned they were in process of hiring a new finance director but at the same time mentioned a need for human resource support to keep up with ever changing labor law as well as health care reform. At the same time, they had their annual health insurance renewal with their plan designs going away due to the latest changes in health care reform. Not to mention a significant increase in cost due to those changes in plan designs.
In other words, Lisa had her hands full with juggling all the organization’s priorities while keeping costs in line and employees happy. PEO Choice was introduced to Colorado Youth Matter at the right time to help with all of the above issues. We collected employee data around benefits and their health insurance renewal and bid out to several PEOs. We then met with Lisa and her outgoing finance director to review initial findings as well as educate on the services of a PEO.
They concluded there was significant cost savings, liked the simplistic approach of “one point of contact” thus easing their administrative burden. Lisa was also able to hire a well-qualified finance director without having to worry about the HR support as they would receive this through the PEO.
Scott supported us every step of the way through a process that could have been daunting – lots of details and costs to consider, all in a short period of time. He clearly outlined our options, introduced us to two outstanding PEOs, and helped us select the right fit for our small nonprofit. I feel confident knowing that we saved money and we’re getting a critical and useful service that enables us to attract top-quality staff and focus on implementing our mission!
